What is "Light Effects" thread ?

"Light Effects" Thread is a gorgeous, specialty thread will add reflective qualities to any needlework or craft project. 

This premium quality thread will slide through your fabric better than most other metallic threads.

You can use this thread along with your cotton DMC embroidery floss since both strands are the same thickness.
The "Light Effects" threads use the same colour numbering system as the cotton floss.  So colour 211 for cotton DMC becomes E211 for "Light Effects" threads.

Try combining one strand of cotton floss with one strand of Light Effects for a different, more bold look.

Some hints for working with Light Effects Threads:

• use about 12" lengths of threads to avoid tangling and fraying.  Remember that every time that your thread is pulled through the fabric, some abrasion results on any thread.

• as with many threads, hold the needle upside down and allow any twists to come out of the thread.  This really helps to prevent knotting.

• There is no need to be in a hurry.  Enjoy your stitching with this thread and appreciate the beauty.

• Using a slightly larger eyed needle may help.  Remember the needle needs to make a hole in the fabric large enough for the thread to go through.

• You can even add glass seed beads to your design using this "Light Effects" Thead.

Laundry Tips:

• Launder in warm water--up to 105 F.

• Use a mild detergent

• Please, no bleach.

• Towel dry first to remove excess water.  Do not wring..  Lay flat to dry.  Do not use the dryer.

• If ironing is required, please use a low setting.

• If you need to dry clean your work, avoid tricholoethylene but other dry cleaning solvents can be used.
